Grow Ahead's Revolving Loan Program

Grow Ahead is on a mission to support 100,000 small-scale farmers address the challenge of climate change in their communities by crowdfunding for climate resilience. 

Grow Ahead’s revolving loan program is designed to support farmer-developed resiliency projects, especially projects focused on reforestation and agroforestry, such as funding for seedlings or compost.

We accept applications on a rolling basis. Learn more about our program and criteria to find out whether you qualify to partner with us.

OUR CRITERIA

  • We partner with small-scale family farmer organizations in Africa, Latin America, and Asia who will play an active role in crowdfunding their projects.
  • We are interested in projects that align with our mission to boost climate resilience on the farm, especially projects focused on reforestation, soil health and community wellbeing.
  • We give preference to projects with a strong multiplier effect on existing community projects.
  • We are looking for candidates with a strong financial track record and sufficient cash flows to support the loan.

THE PROGRAM

  • Grow Ahead lending cycles last 6-18 months.
  • Grow Ahead makes loans of $1,000 - $15,000.
  • Grow Ahead charges a 6-8% fee on an annual basis. These fees are a necessary part of a sustainable financial model: not only do they defray Grow Ahead's operating expenses, they prevent our loans from being unfairly competitive and disrupting local financial markets.
